Repair and Maintenance of Gas and Mechanical Appliances for the City of London – These are statutory requirements that must be fulfilled on behalf of City tenants and leaseholders. All of the City’s residential properties for which it has responsibility for (tenanted) that have gas appliances fitted are required by law to be inspected/serviced to ensure they are safe to use (individual gas heating systems, gas cookers, gas fires etc). In some properties, the City provides heating and hot water to its properties via district heating systems. Servicing and inspections to the plant is also a legal requirement. The contract also allows for the replacement of heating appliances that fail the annual Landlord Gas Safety Record (LGSR).
