Newcastle City Council will be exploring the following potential opportunity to provide therapeutic Sexual Violence and Abuse service, which recognises that victims and survivors are not unique to a particular community or culture and it is recognised that some women may have difficulty with accessing the Service for different reasons and the Service should work flexibly to meet these needs.
The Service will focus on early intervention counselling work, to enable the common effects of Sexual Violence and/or Abuse to be negated and prevent symptoms remaining long term, this has a positive impact on the need for later intervention by statutory services.
