Safe Space is an overnight mental health crisis support service for children and young people aged 13 to 18 years living in Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire. The service provides a safe, supportive and trauma-informed environment for young people experiencing acute emotional distress or mental health crisis, offering short-term stabilisation, emotional support and de-escalation outside of hospital settings. Through close partnership working with CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team (CCIHT) and other relevant agencies, Safe Space aims to reduce crisis escalation, prevent unnecessary hospital attendance and admission, and support young people to access appropriate ongoing care and support.
Provider: Responsible for the operational delivery of Safe Space, including staffing, training, supervision, reporting and day-to-day service management.
