Jake joined BWL as a Bid Writer in 2020 and advanced to Senior Bid Writer in 2021. In 2023, he moved to a large Tier 1 construction company before returning to BWL in 2026 with extensive experience in delivering high-scoring bid writing and management across various civil engineering sectors, including rail, highways, utilities, energy, and renewables.

He specialises in supporting complex, high-value bid submissions, working closely with clients and Subject Matter Experts to develop compelling technical responses aligned with client priorities and evaluation criteria.

Jake’s experience and qualifications enable him to:

  • Construct reader-focused, high-quality tender submissions that articulate client strengths, win themes, innovation, sustainability, and social value in line with buyer requirements.
  • Coordinate and lead input from multidisciplinary management, technical, and operational SMEs, building positive relationships while extracting complex information and translating it into concise, high-scoring responses.
  • Manage multiple concurrent priorities under demanding deadlines through bid programmes, risk management processes, and formal reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Review, proofread, and edit submissions to a high standard to ensure accuracy, consistency, and professional presentation in accordance with tender instructions.

In addition to his bid delivery role, Jake supports clients by identifying suitable tender opportunities for pipeline building while developing and maintaining long-term client relationships.
