Christopher Thompson
Senior Bid Writer
Office location: Darlington
Chris joined BWL as a Senior Bid Writer in 2025, bringing a strong foundation in persuasive writing and a keen eye for detail, refined through his varied background in content development and technical writing. He is responsible for analysing tender documents, developing bespoke storyboards, and producing high-quality responses that align with buyer-specific evaluation criteria and highlight each client’s unique strengths.
Before becoming a Bid Writer, Chris spent five years as a German-to-English translator, holding both in-house and freelance positions. Working with clients across a range of industries, he used his written communication skills to help German and Austrian companies reach an international audience. During this time, he developed skills that still serve him today in his role as a Bid Writer, including clear, concise messaging, in-depth research, and delivering to tight deadlines.
He entered the tendering industry in 2023 as a Junior Bid Writer and quickly settled into his new role, producing winning bids for contracts in the Facilities Management and Health & Social Care sectors in just a matter of months.
