Southern Water ITT Opportunity
Southern Water will shortly be issuing the next stage of the tender process for its £700 million capital infrastructure framework for asset management plan 8 (AMP8). This significant investment programme, marking Southern Water’s largest initiative to date, will drive improvements and achieve service excellence beyond the current AMP7 frameworks, set to expire on 31st March 2025.
Southern Water published the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) in May 2023, for which interested suppliers submitted their response by the 5th of June 2023. Following the evaluation of submissions, Southern Water will select up to six shortlisted suppliers to move forward to the Invitation to Tender (ITT) stage, expected to commence in mid-August.
The framework duration will be for an initial five years with the option to extend by three 12-month periods, and the framework’s estimated value is £500 million for the initial five years and £200 million for the extensions.
The chosen contractors will collaborate with Southern Water to undertake low complexity design and build schemes, adhering to Southern Water’s technical and engineering standards for all aspects of water and wastewater systems. Their responsibilities will encompass water infrastructure (Lot 1), valued at £294 million, as well as wastewater infrastructure (Lot 2), valued at £406 million.
Successful suppliers will work closely with Southern Water in optimising asset specifications, identifying cost-efficient resources to deliver the projects, and creating, managing, and optimising programmes throughout the framework. Adherence to Southern Water’s stringent standards will be key to successful execution of the projects.
