BWL Professional Bid Services support Fire and Security Contractor with £15m contract win

Client: Fire and Security Contractor
Client employer industry: Nuclear
Client contract: Security systems maintenance and upgrade services
Client contract value: £15M
Scope of works:
Leading, writing and developing all technical bid requirements
In May 2018, BWL Group was employed to lead a major bid for a national fire and security organisation. The contractor had limited experience in developing a bid into a nuclear environment and required bid writers who had specific project management and nuclear site experience.
BWL was able to support the contractor with our current knowledge of the local/secure site rules and Magnox specific bid requirements.
BWL was asked to lead the bid with the support of the Operations Director. The BWL bid manager created a responsibility matrix to assign any actions and deadlines for technical information. The client required additional support with a number of supporting documents, including;
- 1. An MSProject Programme exported into P6
- 2. Key CV’s for all key staff
- 3. A Quality Plan
- 4. Bespoke flow diagrams
- 5. 35 Infographics
- 6. Newly designed company policies
BWL was also requested to provide additional advice on how the company should manage and deliver an NEC3 Contract with applicable subcontractor flow down terms.
Added value:
BWL was contracted to this project with only 14 days until the RFP deadline. BWL provided two experienced consultants who worked outside of normal operating hours to ensure the bid was compliant and conveyed the solution in the best possible manner.
The submission was consequently successful, and the contractor was extremely satisfied with the bid management and level of communication throughout the process.
As a result of the success of this tender, BWL was asked to lead another bid for a national service contract bidding into one of the UK’s largest private healthcare providers.
