Bid Consultant – Nuclear sector

The Location: Darlington or Tamworth (with the flexibility to work from home twice per week)
The Salary: £59,000 per annum
The Bonus: 3% bonus on every bid the consultant supports
The Role: Professional Bid Services has an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager/Senior Bid Manager with experience in the nuclear sector, to join us as a Bid Consultant. The role will suit an ambitious Bid Manager looking to take the next step in their career; it involves working as a dedicated bid resource for our clients to articulate their value proposition clearly. Responsibilities will include:

  • Reporting to the Managing Director of Professional Bid Services
  • Managing, consulting, and guiding clients at various levels
  • Producing accurate and complete responses to PQQs, RFIs, RFQs and ITTs
  • Developing detailed storyboards/answer plans for responses
  • Gathering information from subject matter experts to develop responses from start to finish
  • Reviewing, proofreading, and marking up written responses
  • Conducting bid-related research where necessary
  • Developing corporate presentations and infographics
  • Managing sales from existing clients
  • Cooperating with the Commercial Business Manager regarding sales and quotations

The Candidate:
The ideal candidate will be intuitive and will hold the following skills and qualifications:

  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Excellent online research skills
  • Nuclear experience
  • Bid management experience
  • Experience in planning and writing a range of responses, particularly for construction, utilities, rail, or highways contracts
  • Degree level education (creative writing, marketing, journalism, business management, business economics, or similar)
  • Experience in using MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

APMP Proposal Management knowledge is also preferable but not essential.
