BWL Group has recently supported a range of contractors with bid writing services to successfully secure significant tender opportunities

Following the engagement of BWL Professional Bid Services, many of our clients have recently experienced a series of successful tender submissions. Below we summarise our most recent successes.

Bid Writing Reviews for Spanish Tier 1 Contractor

A Tier 1 contractor based in Spain specialising in the electrification and maintenance of railway tracks has been awarded the €76.3 million contract to maintain the electrification network of the Dublin Area Rapid Train (DART) in Ireland for up to 10 years.

To secure this contract, BWL completed a full bid review and edit of their 224-page proposal document. This included mobilising a professional bid writer and bid graphic designer to edit and improve all narrative and create professionally designed infographics and tender templates.

Professional Bid Writing services for Network Rail Bid

BWL recently supported A Tier 1 contractor bidding into Network Rail Structures Asset Management Framework for the identification of key threats to the structures asset portfolio.

We mobilised one of our professional bid writers to support the client through the PQQ stage, following the APMP proposal process, from initial response development through to the Red and Gold review stages. Storyboards were used to ensure all responses were well-structured, contained win themes, and addressed customer hot buttons.

Our senior bid writer also worked with the client’s subject matter experts to adapt existing bid content to develop new case studies, demonstrating the client’s successful delivery and their innovative ways of working that aligned with Network Rail’s objectives.

Following Network Rail’s evaluation of the quality submission, BWL were notified that the quality response scored 96%. This resulted in our appointed writer being seconded to our client’s organisation to support with bid writing for a number of other bids into Network Rail.

Bid Writing & Management for Welsh SME

We supported an SME building contractor in North Wales to deliver the second phase of a comprehensive heritage development project to conserve and develop a historical pub. The project’s vision was to protect the structure of the building, remodel the interior, and create bed and breakfast accommodation to enrich the life of the community and its members.

Our client opted to outsource this bid to BWL in its entirety following another recent win with us. We mobilised a Senior Bid Manager to manage the bid process and draft technical responses, supported by one of our professional bid writers to support with writing and editing. Our client scored first place in their technical submission and secured the contract valued at c£1.9m – with work set to be completed by early 2025.
